Aspenwald, formally the County Palatine and Electorate of Aspenwald, is a miniature monarchy and fiefdom within the Empire of Great Hanover. It is ruled by His Imperial Highness the Archduke Michael William, Count Palatine and Prince Elector of Aspenwald. As the electorate is a constituent fiefdom in the Empire, the Count Palatine and all Aspenwald subjects owe their ultimate allegiance and loyalty to His Imperial Majesty James I of the Empire of Great Hanover. As an imperial electorate,  Aspenwald has been granted by the emperor a great deal of sovereignty in its own internal affairs.

Aspenwald is a monarchist polity that seeks to unite the rich cultural heritage and ceremonious legacy of monarchy in a unique embrace that welcomes the future. It draws inspiration from its liberal Anglo-Catholic heritage, a spiritual compass that infuses our realm with compassion, understanding, and the grace to respect the intrinsic dignity of every soul. This heritage forms the bedrock of our values and our approach towards fostering an environment of harmonious coexistence while maintaining a steady gaze towards a future that cherishes and upholds the principles of acceptance. It should be made very clear that everyone, regardless of his or her religious affiliation or lack thereof, is welcome here.
